Out of the 277 arrested on the charge of indiscriminate painting of color and rioting on Fagupurnima, 150 people have been released. District Police Complex Kathmandu arrested them from various places in Kathmandu on Sunday.

Bhupendra Khatri, Chief of District Police Complex and Senior Superintendent of Police Bhupendra Khatri informed that there were 120 men and 3 women who were released last night.

The team of District Police Complex Kathmandu has seized 300 two-wheelers and seven four-wheelers and handed them over to the traffic police.

They have been arrested for driving a vehicle illegally, not carrying documents, and driving without a helmet.

The police had implemented special security arrangements in the valley on Sunday to make the Phagupurnima or Holi festival safe. A total of 3,000 plainclothes policemen were deployed at different places for traffic checking and surveillance was also done by drones.
