According to the monthly report of the Customs Department, during the eight months of the current financial year, while goods and services worth 10 trillion rupees were imported, only 1 trillion rupees were exported.
Compared to last year's import up to eight months, the import for the same period of this year has decreased by 2.66 percent. Till February 079, the import was equal to 10 trillion 58 billion rupees. It is mentioned in the report that till last February, the import was equal to 10 trillion 30 billion rupees.
Exports up to eight months of the current financial year are also less than the same period last year. Goods worth 1 trillion 4 billion rupees were exported up to February 2019, and in the same period of this year, it has reached 1 trillion 61 crore rupees. Compared to last year, exports in the current year are 3.99 percent less.
Similarly, Nepal's total trade deficit in eight months is 9 trillion 29 billion rupees. Compared to the same period last year, this is 2.52 percent less. Total trade deficit till February 079 was 9 trillion 53 billion rupees.
In eight months, there has been a total foreign trade of 11 trillion 30 billion rupees. During the same period last year, such business was 11 trillion 63 billion rupees.
