Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government is not in favor of reducing the financial equalization subsidy. Prime Minister Dahal gave this explanation when the state and local governments were suspecting that the federal government would reduce the subsidy.
Speaking at the 52nd meeting of the National Development Problem Solution Committee held at the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Office on Thursday, Prime Minister Dahal clarified that the government has adopted a policy of increasing subsidies. Prime Minister Dahal said that the financial equalization subsidy will be maintained in the next fiscal year as well. He announced the government's plan to reduce conditional grants. Prime Minister Dahal said that the special subsidy will be carried out in a new way.
'This financial equalization grant is not reduced. It is maintained like zinc. And the government's emphasis is on reducing conditional grants. The policy of reducing the conditional grant and increasing the generalization grant is actually the right policy related to the implementation of federalism. I think that special grants should be thought about in a special way. We have to think about it in a new way,' he said. Prime Minister Dahal reiterated his commitment to speed up the government's operations from the next financial year.
