Solar grid breaks down in Susta, forced to stay in Tuki for ten days

In the year 2077, electric lights were extended through solar mini grid technology due to the lack of national transmission lines. But, After the solar grid broke down in three years, the residents of Susta had to be deprived of electricity.

Locals complain that they have to rely on tukis and lanterns when the solar grid breaks down during the summer. Electricity was extended through solar grid in Susta, which could not be connected to the power transmission line due to Narayani river. Ravindra Jaiswal, Chairman of the Solar Mini Grid Construction Committee, said that there was a technical problem in solar and a team of technicians was coming for repairs.

The project was completed three years ago at a cost of 48 million for 265 households in Susta from Alternative Energy Promotion Center and various supporting agencies. Locals have demanded that the grid be repaired and electricity flowed immediately.

Chairman of Susta Rural Municipality Tek Narayan Upadhyay said that the alternative energy promotion center has not handed over the project to the local level and there is a problem for the maintenance because the necessary funds have not been allocated for the maintenance.
