IOFTC Nepal has been established as a supporting organization of the International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championship (IOFTC) in Portland, USA.
It was informed that IOFTC Nepal 2024 was formed in a program held at Saugalsthil Yalmul Garden in Patan. Founder and Director of IOFTC Headquarters, Grand Master Diwakar Maharjan welcomed the officials and members of IOFTC Nepal team. IOFTC Nepal is chaired by Meen Prasad Khanal. Rajmandir Shrestha is the vice president, Giri Bahadur Sunar is the secretary, Rikesh Maharjan is the treasurer and Sahdev Shrestha, Shilkumari Maharjan and Bhawani Bajgai are the members.
Grand Master Maharjan while congratulating the team said that IOFTC Nepal aims to work in the promotion of sports field and sports tourism, as well as building and uplifting the art culture. IOFTC Nepal will mainly play the role of organizer in the selection competition when the International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championship is held in Nepal or outside Nepal.
IOFTC has been doing one version in the US and another version outside the US. According to which, 5 editions have been organized in Portland, where IOFTC has its head office, 4 editions in Nepal, one edition each in India, UK, Hong Kong and Michigan in America.
Maharjan informed that 6 players have been selected from the National Open Friendship Taekwondo Tournament, which will be held in Seoul, South Korea in the 14th edition in August.
Grand Master Maharjan handed over the game material to IOFTC Nepal.
