The National Sports Council (Rakhep) has invited President Ramchandra Poudel for the opening ceremony of the 14th Central Level President's Running Shield Sports Competition on Thursday.
Rakhep Member-Secretary Tanklal Ghising presented the invitation letter to President Paudel at Sheetal Niwas. Rakhep Vice President Shiv Koirala, Head of Sports Competitions and Planning Department Meen Kumar Sharma and Head of Financial Administration Branch Rikhiram Pokharel were present.
The President's Running Shield will be held in Kathmandu from May 4th to 6th. The inauguration will be held at Dashrath Stadium. In the tournament, there will be 6 sports competition namely Athletics, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Taekwondo, Karate and Usu. 805 players from all seven provinces will participate in the
competition. There will be competition for 166 medals including 50 gold, 50 silver and 66 bronze. Lumbini Province also won the title for the third consecutive time by becoming the team champion in the last edition.
