CPN-UML parliamentary party leader Jagannath Thapalia is going to be the economic affairs and planning minister of Wagmati province. The Chief Minister of the state, Shalikram Jamkattel, is requesting the office of the state chief to arrange for him to take oath on Saturday evening.
According to UML MP Ekalal Shrestha, only party leaders are going to participate as party representatives in the first phase. "The issue of the share of other ministries and the minister is yet to be decided," he said.
Along with this, the UML is going to participate in the government from today in the new alliance. With the formation of a new alliance, Chief Minister Jamkattel is going to expand the cabinet for the second time.
According to the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Thapalia's oath of office and secrecy has been fixed for 5 pm today. "Because he is the Chief Minister of Kathmandu, the oath was taken late," said the Chief Minister's source.
Earlier on 26 December 2079, Chief Minister Jamkattel appointed Thapalia as Finance Minister.
