According to the project, a dam of 30 meters height and 158 meters length will be constructed on the Sunkosi River in Khurkot and 67 cusecs of water per second will be pumped through a tunnel to Marinkhola in Kamalamai Municipality-2 Kusumtar . There, 31.07 megawatts of electricity will be produced by pouring water from 66 meters of heated water. The main objective of the project is to provide irrigation facilities in Bara, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Mahottari and Dhanusha districts along with electricity generation. The total cost of the project is 49.42 billion rupees.
