Liverpool beat Atalanta 1-0 in the quarter-final second leg on Thursday, but their challenge in the Europa League is over. Mohamed Salah scored from the penalty spot in the seventh minute for Liverpool.
Despite this win, Liverpool went down 3-1 on aggregate and Atalanta reached the semi-finals. Marseille, Roma and Leverkusen also managed to reach the last four. After Marseille beat Benfica 1-0, the tie was tied 2-2 and the tie ended with a 4-2 win.
Roma beat AC Milan 2-1 and took an overall lead of 3-1. Similarly, Leverkusen held West Ham to a 1-1 draw and took an overall lead of 3-1.
