Barpak Sulikot rural municipality has been given a public holiday on Wednesday. The rural municipality has published a public notice on Tuesday that it has been decided to give a public holiday on Wednesday in honor and memory of those who passed away in the earthquake that passed through the center of Barpak on 12th Baisakh.
All government and non-government offices within the rural municipality will be closed on Wednesday.
On Saturday 12th Baisakh 2072 at 11.56 a.m., an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 took place in Barpak of Gorkha. It has also been decided to hold a tribute program at the playground of Himalaya Mavi in Barpak, the epicenter of the earthquake on Wednesday.
