The third national conference of accounting professionals is going to be held in the capital from Thursday. A two-day conference is going to be held under the organization of Nepal Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAN), the regulatory body of chartered accountants.
Sujan Kumar Kafle, president of ICAN, said that the conference will include presentations and in-depth discussions on the development of Nepal's accounting system, international practices and future reforms. "It is expected that more than a thousand accounting professionals will participate in the conference," he said. "On the first day of the conference, three discussion sessions will be held on Thursday." On the last day, on Friday, there will be a discussion session on sustainable business strategy of small and medium businesses, regulation with cooperation, efficiency enhancement of professional services.' In the
conference, Asma Resmouki, the president of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the international regulatory body of accounting professionals, is scheduled to address as the keynote speaker. ICAN's former chairman and council member Yuddhraj Oli said that the participation of the head of the international regulatory body is important for Nepal. "The purpose of organizing such a conference is to inform the stakeholders about the international practices introduced by Nepal in the accounting business and to listen to the stakeholders," he added.
