Surya Nepal Kathmandu Open: Neeraj won the first title by equaling the course record

On the last day of Kathmandu Open, the seventh tournament under Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2023/24, Pro Neeraj of Dharan equaled Shivram Shrestha's course record with an impressive score of 8 under 60. Shivaram scored 8 under in the NPGA Presidents Cup in 2015.

At the start of play on Friday, Neeraj was seven strokes behind three-day leader Bhuvan. However, with the performance of 8 under, he got a prize of 1 lakh 20 thousand rupees along with the title.

At the start of the last 18 holes, Bhuvan had a lead of 6 strokes over Dinesh Prajapati and 7 strokes over Neeraj. However, Bhuvan settled for second place with an overall score of 7-under 265 after finishing with an even-par 68 on Friday. He got 82 thousand.

Jairam Shrestha finished third with a total of 271 after playing a 4-under 64. He won 66 thousand. Toranvikram Shahi finished fourth with an overall score of even par 68 with an even par 272. He got 53 thousand. Overall, Dhan Bahadur Thapa, who was fifth with 2 overs of 274, scored 45 thousand. He shot an even par 68. Subas Tamang, who is considered a contender for the

title, finished sixth overall with 4 over 276. Subas, who played the domestic tour for the first time after turning pro, got 33,500. Overall, Dinesh Prajapati and Ravi Khadka shared the seventh position with 5 over 277. They each received 33 thousand 500 awards. Sanjay Lama and Bhuvankumar Rokka finished the tournament in tenth place with an overall score of 7 over 279. Sanjay ended the match with 5 over 73 and Bhuvan with 1 over 69. They got 24,000 people.

On the amateur side, Sadbhava Acharya won the title with an overall score of 13 over 285. He finished the match at 7 over 75 and beat Tasi Tshiring by 10 strokes. Tassie scored an overall score of 295 over 23. On Friday, he finished with 12 over 80. National team player Rahul Vishwakarma came third with a total score of 300.

Neeraj finished the front nine at 5 under 29 to equal the course record. He hit four birdies in a row from the first to the fourth hole. After saving a shot on the ninth hole, he was just one stroke behind Bhuvan at the end of the front nine. Bhuvan completed the front nine in 1 over 35. He birdied the second and fourth holes but double bogeyed the third hole and bogeyed the fifth hole.

Neeraj continued the performance of front nine. Neeraj birdied the 10th hole to tie the score with Bhuvan. After this, when Neeraj hit two consecutive birdies on the 13th and 14th holes, he took a two-stroke lead.

Even though Hazard played bogey on the 16th hole, he made a 2-stroke lead again with an excellent birdie on the 17th hole. He finished the back nine at 3 under 31 to win by one stroke. Bhuvan made birdies on the 11th and 18th holes against a bogey on the 12th hole. Finished the back nine at 1 under 33.

Jairam finished both front and back nine at 2 under 32. On the front nine, he birdied the second, fourth and eighth holes and missed a shot on the ninth hole. On the back nine, he saved one shot each on the 13th, 14th and 17th holes and bogeyed the 16th hole.

Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd Marketing Vice President Deepra Lahari, Nepal Golf Association President Tasi Ghale and Royal Nepal Golf Club Captain Mithun Rai presented the prizes to the winners.
