Bagmati and Karnali Pradesh teams won the Veer Ganeshman Singh National Men's T20 Cricket Tournament on Friday. Wagmati defeated Koshi Pradesh by 7 runs at Moolpani upper cricket ground. This is the team's second victory.
After losing the toss and being invited to bat, Wagmati scored 138 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Ishan Pandey added 31 runs and Sonu Devkota added 30 runs. Gautam KC and Ravin Joshi scored 13 runs. Saravan Yadav of Koshi region took 3 wickets and Gyanendra Shrestha took 2 wickets. Koshi got off to a good start with a target of 139 runs in the
reply. Captain Ankit Subedi and Minas Thapa shared 53 runs for the first wicket and gave Koshi a good start. Ankit scored 36 and Minas scored 11. Sujan Thapalia and Sonu Ansari shared a partnership of 27 runs for the third wicket.
Their partnership was broken by Ishan Pandey taking the wicket of Sonu . Rijn Dhakal took 3 wickets, Subhas Khatri took 2 wickets, Shubh Kanshakar and Ramnaresh Giri took 1 each. Ishaan Pandey of Wagmati was chosen as the player of the match.
In another match of the tournament organized by Ganeshman Singh Sports Committee under Ganeshman Singh Foundation, Karnali defeated Sudurpaschim Pradesh by 4 wickets . After winning the toss, Sudurpaschim scored 143 runs after losing 5 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
Abhishek Pal scored 51 runs, Naren Bhatt scored 47 runs and Kiran Thagunna scored 22 runs. Dinesh Adhikari of Karnali took 2 wickets, Yunish Thakuri, Dipendra Rawat and Prakash Jaisi took 1 wicket each.
Karnali Pradesh completed the target of 144 runs by losing 6 wickets with 8 balls remaining. Arjun Gharti scored the highest 37 runs and Dinesh Adhikari scored an unbeaten 31 runs to give victory to Karnali. He was voted Dinesh Player of the Match.
