Karnali Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel has added one minister 16 days after his appointment. He was appointed Chief Minister on March 27. After a long tussle between the two major parties of the ruling coalition, the UML and the Maoist Center, Chief Minister Kandel on Wednesday appointed Ransingh Periyar of the Maoist Center as a non-departmental minister and is going to take the vote of confidence on Thursday.
Since both parties have made the Ministry of Social Development a matter of their prestige, there has been a problem in the expansion of the cabinet for a long time. But the meeting of both the parties held on Tuesday ended the division of the ministry. According to which, it has been agreed that the Maoists will take over the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, Social Development, Industry, Tourism, Forestry and Environment and the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy Development. UML has got the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development, Internal Affairs and Planning and Lands, Administration, Agriculture and Cooperatives along with the Chief Minister.
On Wednesday, Chief Minister Tilak Pariyar administered the oath of office and secrecy to Minister Pariyar without department. He is an elected Member of Parliament from Humla 1 (1). With the end of the division between the two parties, Chief Minister Kandel has already registered a letter in the Provincial Assembly Secretariat on Tuesday for the program of taking the vote of confidence from the Parliament on Thursday. A UML MP said that once the Chief Minister takes the vote of confidence, the Council of Ministers will be complete.
Maoists have decided to send a new MP to the minister after the aspirants are too many. Maoist Member of Parliament Krishna Bahadur GC said that the issue of bhagbanda has been settled and now the cabinet will be expanded soon. "Since both parties have agreed, there will be no problem now," he said.
