Siddharth Highway, which was closed for 6 hours daily during the night, has been operational for 24 hours after 100 days. The Siddhababa Tunnel Project said that the tunnel digging in the Siddhababa area of Palpa's Tinau Rural Municipality-3, Dobhan was closed at night, but it has been fully operational.
Siddharth Highway was closed for 6 hours every day to dig tunnels from both sides, widen the highway and work on rocket nets. Last Dec Since the 16th, Siddharth Highway was closed from 10 pm to 4 am every day. When the road was closed, there was a problem for emergency vehicles, ambulances and press vehicles at night.
Locals complained that they had to wait three hours on the road to take patients to Butwal, dead bodies and even ambulances. A contract was signed with China State Construction Engineering Corporation in February 2078 to build a 1,126 meter tunnel in Siddhababa area.
The government has planned to build a tunnel for safe traffic after the landslides in the Siddhababa area under the Palpa-Butwal road section of the highway have suffered huge losses every year. According to the contract, the construction work should be completed within 2083. When the construction company spent a year on the design of the tunnel, the digging of the tunnel was delayed.
