The Election Commission has informed that the counting of votes for the by-election of the Ilam District Representative Assembly Constituency No. 2 will begin on Saturday at 11:00 PM. Similarly, the commission has informed that the counting of votes for the by-election for the provincial assembly member of Bajhang will start only on Sunday.
According to Ram Dutt Pandey, spokesperson of the Commission, preparations are being made for the counting of votes in Elam. He informed that the process of entering the details of voting in the Commission's information system is ongoing. According to the details so far, the commission has informed that about 58 percent voting in Ilam District Representative Assembly Member Constituency 2. There were 115 thousand 889 voters in Ilam district representative assembly constituency number 2 for the by-election.
The Commission has said about the counting of votes in Ilam Constituency No. 2, 'Transportation of ballot boxes from all polling stations to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer is underway . According to the information received from the Chief Election Officer's office and the local administration, arrangements have been made so that the ballot boxes of Ilam District Representative Assembly Member Constituency No. 2 arrive at Gautam Budh Auditorium, Ilam Municipality Ward No. 7, at the counting place by 11:00 pm. The commission said that the counting of votes will start soon after the ballot boxes are brought to the polling station.
The commission has said that the counting of votes for the by-election of the provincial assembly of Bajhang will be held only on Sunday. There were 61 thousand 748 voters in the Bajhang state assembly by-election with about 50 percent voting.
'As the ballot boxes of Bajhang have to be transported by air to the counting place of Bajhang District Court, Chainpur, necessary arrangements have been made so that they can be transported by 10:00 am on 2081/1/16 .
Arrangements have been made to bring the ballot boxes of 3 locations of Bajhang District Saipal Rural Municipality to the District Headquarters by helicopter of the Nepali Army, said the commission. The commission said that the counting of votes will start on Sunday after bringing the ballot boxes.
The commission said that the by-elections in Bajhang and Ilam were completed peacefully and enthusiastically.
