By-elections are being held in Ilam and Bajhang today. By-elections are going to be held for members of the House of Representatives in Ilam-2 and members of the Provincial Assembly in Bajhang Constituency 1 (a).
Stating that all the preparations have been completed in both the constituencies, the Election Commission has called upon the voters to participate in the polls confidently. Voting according to the election program It will be from 7 am to 5 pm.
Nepal Communist Party (UML) leader Subash Chandra Nemwang, member of the House of Representatives elected from Ilam-2, suffered a heart attack on August 26 and Prithvi Bahadur Singh, member of the Provincial Assembly of Bajhang-1, died of a heart attack. Elections are going to be held today in those vacant seats after he died in a road accident on June 25.
According to the commission, the voter's ID card, certificate of Nepali citizenship, national identity card, passport, permanent account number ID card, driver's license issued by the commission has been arranged to allow voting. The voter's name should be in the final voter list published by the commission.
Suhang Nemwang from CPN-UML, Dumbar Khadka from Nepali Congress, National Independent Party 19 people including Milan Limbu are in the election field.
Similarly, 12 people including Abhishek Bahadur Singh from Nepali Congress, Daman Bhandari from CPN (UML), Janak Budha from Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center) and Dil Bahadur Singh from Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist Party) are competing in Bajhang.
