The Election Commission has appealed to participate in the by-elections to be held on Saturday. The commission issued a statement on Friday and appealed to participate in the by-elections to be held in Ilam-2 and Bajhang 1 (1) which will be held on Saturday. The Commission has also stated that all the preparations for the election have been completed.
The Commission has appealed to all the voters to attend and vote at their designated polling stations from 7 am to 5 pm for the by-elections. The commission has mentioned that the election code of conduct is being followed and monitoring is being carried out in detail regarding election security.
'In order to conduct the election in a clean, free, fair, credible and fear-free environment, during the period of prohibition of campaigning that started 48 hours before the day of the election, in compliance with the Election Commission Act, 2073, the Election (Offences and Punishment) Act, 2073 and the Election Code of Conduct, 2079 The commission has adopted special vigilance,' the statement said, 'for the effective implementation of the election code of conduct, the election monitoring committee, monitoring officers, employees assigned to the polling work and security personnel are also conducting micro monitoring.'
The commission has informed the chief district officer of the respective district through the Ministry of Home Affairs to make suitable arrangements for the operation of public transport for the smooth movement of voters in the respective constituencies so that the cleanliness, fairness and transparency of the election are not affected on the day of voting.
With the goal of not creating a situation where the freedom and fairness of the election can be questioned from anywhere, not allowing the polling officers and employees assigned on the day of the polling to perform their duties, trying to occupy the polling station by using force or showing intimidation, voting for any voter with a path or a gouda. It is also said that the related agencies have been instructed to carry out the polling work in accordance with the prevailing laws and take action against anyone who does not allow to go to the center, tries to take away, loot, destroy or take possession of ballot papers, ballot boxes or voting materials, creates or causes a debate, ruckus or unusual situation. Spokesperson Ram Dutt Pandey said in a statement.
