Congress leaders demanding the resignation of the Home Minister

Congress leaders have said that Lamichhane is morally unfit to hold office after the police report with the conclusion that GB Rai and Lamichhane illegally took loans and embezzled savings in the bootball's Supreme Cooperative fraud.

A Congress official said that they suspected that the whole state was trying to protect Lamichhane by investigating but not making him a defendant. Now the question has been raised about the police. The official said, 'now the situation is not limited to forming an inquiry committee. We have reached the level of demanding the resignation of the Home Minister.

Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula said that they will continue the demand for a parliamentary inquiry until the party takes another decision. He argued that it was confirmed that the demand raised by them was justified. There is still a chance, let's make it soon. The committee will find a way to solve not only Ravi's problem but also the problem of the cooperative as a whole," said Sitaula.

The head of the Congress Parliamentary Party, Sachek Ramesh Akhtar, said that since the situation has progressed a lot, the position to be taken by the Congress in the upcoming Parliament will be discussed within the party. Lamichhane was not made a defendant because he was the Home Minister. There was no work to take statements and documents. However, now that the situation has progressed a lot, we will take a decision after further discussion within the party," he said.

Home Minister Lamichhane, who has been claiming that there are no directors, members, savers and creditors in the cooperative, has been confirmed through police investigation. The police investigating the fraud in Butwal's Supreme Cooperative concluded that GB Rai and Lamichhane along with 'without completing the process' took loans in the name of individuals and companies and embezzled the savings. Although Lamichhane's name, amount and quality are mentioned in the investigation report, his name has disappeared from the list of defendants in the case.

A complaint was filed with the police on March 1, saying that 1 billion and 31 crore savings of about 10,000 savers who had deposited 1/200 to 100,000 rupees in Butwal's Supreme Cooperative were embezzled. After 1 thousand 828 people filed a complaint, the police started an investigation. In the 157-page chargesheet, Lamichhane's name along with the amount, date and account are in 9 places on 7 different pages. But when 28 people were made defendants, they were given immunity by the police and the district attorney's office. According to the order, Roshni Gurung, an employee of the cooperative who deposited the check, was arrested and detained.
