Sagar Sunar Bishwakarma of Kaski's Madi Rural Municipality-11 is only three feet seven inches tall. Sagar is born disabled and both his legs are crooked. He also has neck vein disease. However, he has set a big goal. That is, to climb Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world.
If Sagar's goal of reaching the peak in the spring season is successful, he will also hold the record of the world's shortest person to climb Mount Everest. 30-year-old Sagar, who belongs to Hochapudka Sangh Kathmandu, said that he will go to Lukla on Sunday for climbing. "I held a press conference and informed about my campaign," Sunar said, "In two/three days, the work of obtaining a climbing permit from the tourism department will be completed. After that, I will head towards Khumbu on Sunday.'
This is his second attempt to climb Everest. A year ago, he reached the fourth camp and was forced to return due to bad weather. During the climb, he reached the fourth camp at an altitude of 7,950 meters. "Last year, I came back from the fourth camp after the weather did not cooperate," he said, who has now come to the mountain climbing area from the profession of making gold jewelry. At that time, he got permission to climb Mt. Everest with the aim of spreading awareness about the social discrimination on Hochapudka and the effects of climate change.
