It is suggested to keep the English name of Everest as Everest

In an interaction with the media persons organized by the History Shiromani Baburam Acharya Memorial Foundation here on Sunday, they argued that the name of Everest should be the same, just like the names of other mountains in Nepal are only Nepalised. In the

program, Prada Triratna Manandhar, President of the Foundation and Historian Prada Triratna Manandhar, informed about the historical fact that Historian Shiromani Acharya gave the name to Everest. History Shiromani Acharya first mentioned that the name of the highest peak is Everest in 1995.

Prada Manandhar said, "If there is some awkwardness at the beginning when the name of Everest is mentioned in English, you can put 'Mount Everest' in parentheses along with Everest, but the original name Everest should not be omitted." He said that he would submit a memorandum to the Government of Nepal in the near future in this regard. During the

program, Prof. Surendra KC said that the words are changed according to the nationality. He also informed about the need for accuracy and correct information during such changes.

Similarly, the foundation's general secretary Baburam Acharya, treasurer Kanchan Sharma and others discussed the contribution of history Shiromani Acharya to the history of Nepal and the original identity of Mount Everest.
