NGO rehabilitates HIV positive woman

KATHMANDU, OCT 13 - Minu, an HIV positive woman along with her two daughters Jyoti and Isabelle, have been rehabilitated by Karunavas, a social organisation based at Lalitpur. She had been staying at the Community District Hospital, Lamjung.
Minu reached Lamjung in search of treatment when her society at Gorkha did not accept her. She contracted the disease through her husband. Jyoti, her elder daughter is also HIV infected. However, her second child, who is one and half-years old is not infected.
“We will now provide Minu with skill developing training and send her daughters to school,” said, Deepa Sabash, a member of the organisation.
The organisation decided to rehabilitate Minu’s family, following a news report carried in the dailies Kantipur and The Kathmandu Post. I.
Kantipur Television had also telecast a document ~ ~ ry directed by Manish Gautam on the situation of Minu and her two daughters entitled Ajha Dherai Banchnu Chha for Young Asia Television. Posted on: 2003-10-12 10:01
