Gurukul overcame stern opposition from Navodit to win 85-53 in the Second Sachindra Memorial Basketball Tournament in Kathmandu on Tuesday. Robin Khatri bagged 22 points to lead Gurukul to victory. IN the day’s second match, NASA defeated Boudha 61-39.
Binod Shrestha’s 15 point contribution turned the tables in favor of NASA. Meanwhile in the day’s last game Goldengate hammered Samakhusi 72-48. Sushil Gurungs 26 points helped Goldengate to a comfortable victory.
‘Man of Gorkha,’ race with traditional values
KATHMANDU: More than 100 athletes will be participating in the annual ‘Man of Gorkha’ race, scheduled to be held on December 25 in Gorkha District, said the organisers on Tuesday. “The beginning point of eight-km race is Haramtari and the end point is historical Gorkha Palace,” said Prakash Chandra Shrestha, member of chief organizing committee. “The annual race marks the celebration of glorious history which initiated the unification of modern Nepal after the person winning the race was enthroned as the king of then Gorkha state.”
