DEC 11 - Co-ops deposits dwarf those of  Dev banks
KATHMANDU: Raising alarm bells for the regulators, deposits in poorly regulated cooperatives have dwarfed those in B and C class financial institutions (FI).  The latest statistics released by the Department of Cooperatives (DoC) show cooperatives across the country had deposits worth Rs 139.54 billion at the end of the last fiscal year.
    
AHRC points poor rights record
KATHMANDU: The failure of democratic institutions has resulted in Nepal's dismal human rights record, the Asian Human Rights Commission said in its annual report on Monday.
