KATHMANDU, NOV 13 -
The Insurance Board (IB) is planning to open branches outside the Kathmandu valley for more efficient monitoring and supervision of insurance companies. IB executive director Binod Aryal said they would open their first branch in Dhangadhi by mid-December. “The IB will open four more branches within a year — one each in the five development region,” said Aryal. “If the regulator is present in other parts of the country, it will help to increase the reach of insurance to a larger section of the population.” The offices will make it easier for people to file complaints.
