Now clinic inside Singha Durbar

KATHMANDU, NOV 08 - In yet another cheer for the civil servants working inside Singha Durbar, the government has decided to open a clinic.

Chief Secretary Lilamani Poudel on Friday is inaugurating the first ever medical facility inside the country’s main administrative building, housed on the ground floor of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The clinic is expected to cater to more than 4,000 government employees and visitors.

A team from the Baneshwor-based Civil Service Hospital (CSH) will provide free medical checkup to civil servants. “Medical services at the clinic won’t be free of cost, but civil servants would get 40 percent discount,” said an official at the PMO.

Earlier more than one year ago, the government established a day care service for children of civil servants inside Singha Durbar, which is in the groove.

“In the beginning, health checkups would be conducted twice a week. Since the clinic has been set up permanently, services would be extended further,” said Spokespe-rson at the PMO and Joint-secretary, Jagadish Regmi.
