Nepali eves on a mission to make it three in a row in the ACC U-19 Women’s Championship will take on Bhutan in the semi-final at the Unity Ground, Kuwait on Thursday.
In a repeat of the last edition’s final winner of group A Nepal look to finish of runner up of group B Bhutan’s challenge to book their berth in the final which will be held on Friday.
In 2010, Nepal had ousted the underdog of the tournament Bhutan five wickets to lift the title. Chasing a target of 53 runs Nepal had accomplished the target in 17.2 overs with the loss of five wickets.
Defending champions Nepal have so far outshined in both the bowling as well as the batting. They started the tournament with seven wickets triumph over China, and then went on to beat Thailand by four wickets, UAE by 68 runs and Malaysia by 97 runs. Bhutan on the other hand defeated Qatar and Hong Kong by eight and 69 runs respectively but host Kuwait stopped them from toping the group with 18 runs victory.
Nepal’s coach Nabin Singh said his bunch of fresh players were ready to take on the challenge with both their bat and the ball. In the other semi-final Thailand will test Kuwait at Hubara Ground.
