Nepal thump JNPT
KATHMANDU: Nepal defeated Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) by seven wickets in a friendship match during their tour of India on Friday. Electing to field, Basant Regmi and Sanjam Regmi shared three wickets each as Nepal bowled JNPT for 53 runs in 16.0 overs. Sharad Vesawkar and Gyanendra Malla remained unbeaten at 19 and 11 runs respectively as the visitors completed the run chase in 12.3 overs with the loss of three wickets. Earlier, apart from Ranjit Deshmukh who stroked 21 runs off 43 balls rest of the batting collapsed under quality bowling from Nepal.
C Division National League
KATHMANDU: A goal each from Sabin Maharjan and Sujan Kunwar helped Samaj Kalyan Khelkud Kendra beat Satdobato Youth Club 2-1 in the Red Bull C Division National League Football at Police Training Centre, Maharajgunj on Friday. Maharjan and Kunwar scored in the sixth and 24th minutes of the game to put Samaj Kalyan on top. Sabin KC had tried to put Satdobato back in the game with his goal in the 75th minute but that came too little to late to put ample pressure on the opposition.
