Parliament disruption on

POST REPORT
KATHMANDU, JAN 29 -
Parliament protests show no sign of ebbing as the House remained obstructed for the sixth time on Sunday.

Opposition parties have been pressing the government to scrap its decision regarding the legalisation of conflict-era land transactions made through parallel governments run by the then CPN (Maoist).

Nepali Congress lawmaker Ratna Sherchan and Ram Chandra Jha of CPN-UML condemned the government for shutting its eyes to the demands raised by the opposition parties in the House. They said the government’s unwillingness to resume session has affected the peace and constitution making processes.

The opposition is obstructing the parliament since January 17 against the Cabinet’s decision to legalise land deals made by the Maoists during the conflict. Rastirya Janamorcha, RPP (Nepal), Rastirya Janashakti Party, CPN-ML (Samajbadi) have shown solidarity with the protest.
