NEPALGUNJ, JUL 26 -
Cases of human rights violation committed by the state side remains high in Mid-Western Region, according to a new report.
A report on the violation of human rights within the last one year period prepared by the Nepalgunj-based Regional Office of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Tuesday made this revelation.
Out of a total of 32 cases of human rights violation filed at the NHRC regional office, 26 were committed by the state side and the remaining by the other sides. The report states that 20 cases of human rights violation were recorded in Banke district, four in Bardiya, three in Dang, two in Dailekh and one each in Salyan, Pyuthan and Jumla.
The report made public by NHRC Regional Director Murari Prasad Kharel says that the government implemented its only 14 recommendations out of a total of 76 that the rights body made to it for action.
