SC order on nursing row

POST REPORT

KATHMANDU, SEP 05 -
The Supreme Court (SC) on Sunday issued a show cause to the government over the imposition of new requirement to the nursing colleges that they must own a 50-bed hospital.

The apex court also summoned both the government and the litigants for discussions on whether an interim order should be issued to stay implementation of the new requirement announ-ced by the government.

As the new requirement had halted admissions in 21 out of the total 81

nursing colleges, the single bench of Justice Kanlyan Shrestha also ordered the government not to halt admission as of now stating that the halt would put many aspiring students in a state of confusion.

On Thursday, Madan Bhandari Memorial Academy had filed a writ challenging the government decision on new provision.
