RAUTAHAT, SEP 05 -
An improvised explosive device went off inside the office building of District Development Committee (DDC), Rautahat, on Sunday. Shivshankar Chaudhary was hurt in the incident.

Police immediately detained two suspects from the DDC premises in connection with the blast that was carried out inside the office of Local Development Officer Bishnu Lamichane.

In another incident, a blast took place in an abandoned building at Duruwa VDC of Dang on Saturday night. Police said the blast went off inside the building owned by Jivraj Dhital. A cylinder of cooking gas was recovered from the scene. It was not clear who perpetrated the blast or for what motive.
