NTY promo held in South Africa
KATHMANDU, SEP 05 -
The Nepal Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa and the Non-Resident Nepali Association, South Africa jointly organized a programme to promote Nepal Tourism Year 2011 on Saturday.
The programme was jointly inaugurated by Arun Prasad Dhital, ambassador of Nepal to South Africa, Dr. Khimannda Gaire, senior medical doctor, Bhim Udas, patron, Non-Resident Nepali Association, and Awtar Gurung, president of the Resident Nepali Association, South Africa.
Ambassador Dhital highlighted the importance of Nepal Tourism Year 2011 and different aspects of Nepal-South Africa relations. He said that its main objective was to establish Nepal as a major tourist destination. “He pledged the full cooperation of the Nepal Embassy in disseminating information about Nepal, facilitating visa issuance and other logistic matters,” states a press release of the embassy.
Officials from the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, representatives from the media and the travel trade and a large number Nepalis residing in South Africa were present on the occasion.
The event was the first official programme organized by the Nepal Embassy in South Africa to promote tourism after the establishment of the embassy in Pretoria earlier this year. Keeping in view Nepal Tourism
Year 2011, the embassy is planning to organize more tourism promos in South Africa.
