NEPSE keeps its run down

KATHMANDU, AUG 17 -
Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) shed 6.53 points on Tuesday. The benchmark index came down to 447.17 points when the market closed for the day.

The group of hydropower companies led the losers’ group dropping 12.63 points followed by commercial banks, development banks, insurance companies and hotels losing 9.82 points, 4.32 points, 2.22 points and 0.86 point respectively.

The groups of manufacturing and processing companies and finance companies stayed out of red zone by posting gains of 13.07 points and 0.76 point respectively. Shares of Unilever Nepal Limited were in pole position (up Rs. 252 per share), while shares of Bank of Kathmandu suffered the most (down Rs. 83 per share).The stock market witnessed a turnover of Rs. 33.36 million from the trading of 57,002 shares through 9.9 transactions.
