51 girls, 17 clients held from massage parlours
KATHMANDU: Police on Sunday raided two dozen Thamel-based massage parlours and arrested 51 girls and 17 clients, including four Indian nationals, for indulging in flesh trade and indecent activities. A squad from Metropolitan Police Sector Sorakhutte raided 17 massage centres and held them.
Qatar law in Nepali
DOHA (QATAR): Nepali migrant workers in Qatar will benefit from the recently issued Qatar Labour Law 2004 in Nepali. The 80-page book translated by Ramjan Alimiya was launched on Friday. Secretary of Nepali Embassy in Qatar, Ramkaji Khadka said the book will help Nepali workers understand different aspects of labour law of Qatar.
Strangers set woman afire
MAHOTTARI: Two unidentified men set a woman, Rubidevi Jha, afire by sprinkling petrol at Shripur VDC-9 in Mahottari on Saturday night. Kin and neighbours rescued her immediately by dousing the fire. Unconscious, Jha is undergoing treatment at Janakpur Zonal Hospital.
Jwala Singh man in net
PARSA: Police on Sunday made public an underground outfit member held on July 30 on the charge of a number of crimes. Twenty-five-year-old Bhaju Patel, central member of Jwala Singh-led Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha, was accused of murder, extortion and terrorism. (PR)
