Gold, silver prices down

KATHMANDU, JUL 31 -
The gold price in the local market dropped by Rs 625 per 10 grams over the last week with the same coming down to Rs 29,535 on Friday from Rs 30,160 on Sunday.

However, the yellow metal’s price had soared to Rs 30,180 per 10 grams on Monday before falling for the remaining days of the week.

The precious metal’s price remained unchanged at Rs 29,580 for 10 grams on Wednesday and Thursday.

With the global stock market reviving, the price of gold declined to US $ 1, 168 per 10 grams from US $ 1,190 during the same week and its reflection was seen in the domestic market.

Silver also lost Rs. 2 per 10 grams during the week. The white metal which was traded at Rs. 480 per 10 grams was sold at Rs 478 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. However, its price had gone up to Rs 482 on Monday and Tuesday.
