Mobile Tron’s gift offer
KATHMANDU: Mobile Tron, the authorized retail partner of Nokia mobile handsets and its accessories in Nepal, has completed its first year of operation. Mobile Tron has two outlets, one at Tamrakar Complex and the other at the City Centre. A press release issued by the company stated that the company would give away attractive gift hampers to its customers on the purchase of every Nokia mobile handset in a limited time offer.
Solar power hoarding
KATHMANDU: Gham Power Nepal unveiled the first ever solar hoarding in Nepal amid a function on Tuesday. Manoj Goyal, chief executive officer (CEO) of Clean Energy Development Bank, unveiled the newly launched solar hoarding. Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Giri, president of Gham Power Nepal, said that the solar hoarding would provide relief to the hoarding business amid the power shortage and reduce air pollution caused by diesel generators run to fulfil the power requirement of Kathmandu.
Pokharel visits Home TV
KATHMANDU: Minister of Information and Communication Shankar Pokhrel visited the site of Home TV to study, evaluate and investigate the organization. The company has established an earth station hub at Bhaisepati, Lalitpur. Speaking on the occasion, Pokhrel guaranteed that the ministry would take the required action against illegal DTH bought in Nepal. He said, "Replacing international DTH with national DTH is important and the most essential requirement at present." Home TV is the first company to introduce DTH service in Nepal. The company, which has received permission to transmit 80 channels, has completed its test transmission and plans to launch its service shortly. A press release issued by the company stated that antenna tests had been conducted across the country. According to the company, it will start operations on August 17, 2010.
