NEPSE’s meagre gain
KATHMANDU, JUL 27 -
Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) posted a meager gain of 0.35 points on Tuesday after the consecutive fall for two initial days this week. The benchmark index settled at 462 points when the market closed for the day.
On Tuesday, the rise in the sub-indices of just two sectors pushed up the benchmark index of the secondary market. Among the six sectors that witnessed trading on Tuesday, the groups consisting of commercial banks and development banks posted small gains of just 0.99 points and 0.15 points respectively.
On the other hand, the sub-indices of groups consisting of hydropower companies, insurance companies and finance companies lowered by losing 5.48 points, 4.91 points and 0.87 point respectively. However, the index of the other sectors remained unchanged. The capital market saw a turnover of Rs. 26.52 million from the trading of 71,045 shares. Likewise, 715 transactions were registered during the day.
