NEPSE drops 5.4 points
KATHMANDU, JUL 25 -
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) slipped 5.4 points on the opening day of the week. Following a fall in the sub-indices of all the listed groups in the secondary market except for the hotel group, the benchmark index settled at 463.94 points when the market closed for the day.
Insurance companies led the losers shedding 14.47 points on Sunday followed by hydropower companies, commercial banks and development banks with losses of 12.77 points, 5.76 points and 4.74 points respectively.
Likewise, finance companies and the others sectors also dropped 3.79 points and 3.52 points respectively. The sub-index of the hotel group saw no change.
On Sunday, losses in the share prices of 53 companies out of the 67 on the trading floor pulled down the stock market.
Shares of Asian Life Insurance Company suffered the most, dropping Rs. 80 per share.
