Economist Pant dead

KATHMANDU, JUL 19 -
 Former vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission and senior monetary economist Raghav Dhwoj Pant passed away at his residence at Dillibazaar here on Monday. He was 66. Pant, who had to be admitted in the Teaching Hospital 10 days ago, breathed his last at 1 am. He was suffering from kidney ailments for the past one month. Pant was cremated at the Pashupati Aryaghat on Monday itself. Till recently Pant had been working as the Executive Director at the Development Study Centre. He is survived by a wife, a son and a daughter.

Pant, who began his career from Nepal Rastra Bank, completed his PhD on Asian inflation from Carleton University in Canada.
