Wage hike sought
KATHMANDU, JUL 17 -
The General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT) has started collecting the views of labourers regarding their expected wage hike in order to seek an appropriate wage rise from the management.
The trade union has started distributing forms to labourers associated with it. “We will then lobby with the government and the management for appropriate pay raise,” said Binod Shrestha, vice-president of GEFONT.
The CPN (UML) affiliated trade union said it will collect views of workers from its 12 zonal committees. The campaign will last till August 10, it said.
