Refugees give cops tough time

RAJENDRA MANANDHAR

DOLAKHA, JUL 10 -
Ordered not to let Tibetan refugees enter the Capital, the Lamabagar-based border police post in Dolakha district is having tough time sending the asylum seekers back to their country.

The government has issued directives that the refugees arrested while crossing the border illegally should not be sent to the Immigration Department for legal action. Following the directive, the Home Ministry, a few months ago, directed the police across the country to send the refugees back to Tibet right away.

Assistant Sub Inspector Daya Ram Pant said the Tibetans wanted to avoid going back. “They threaten to kill themselves and attack each other with stones on the way,” he added.
