Rs 248m Indian aid

KATHMANDU, JUL 09 -
India has provided Rs. 248 million grant to Nepal for effective flood management.

Indian Ambassador Rakesh Sood handed over a cheque  to Irrigation Minister Bal Krishna Khand on Friday. The aid comes as part of India’s contribution to the construction of embankments along Lalbakeya, Bagmati, Kamla and Bhakuwa rivers in Nepal.

Under India-Nepal Joint Committee on Inundation and Flood Management, India has been providing assistance to expand embankments along these three rivers.
