NEPSE plateaus, settles at 455.75
KATHMANDU, JUN 30 -
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a meagre gain of 0.97 point on Wednesday following four consecutive days of losses. The NEPSE index settled at 455.75 points when the market closed for the day.
The secondary market posted the miniscule gain with a rise in the sub-indices of hotels, hydropower companies, commercial banks and development banks.
The hotel group posted a rise of 3.48 points followed by hydropower companies, commercial banks and development banks with gains of 0.95 point, 0.62 point and 0.08 point respectively. Finance companies and insurance companies shed 1.45 points and 1.26 points respectively while the sub-index of the others sector remained unchanged. Among the 66 companies on the trading floor, share prices of 21 companies went up while 34 companies witnessed a fall in their share prices.
Everest Bank rose Rs. 35 per share, the highest on Wednesday while Citizen Investment Trust suffered the most, losing Rs. 121 per share.
The capital market witnessed a turnover of Rs. 21.28 million through the trading of 53,728 shares from 875 transactions.
