Warm welcome for Gyanendra

Deposed king Gyanendra Shah on Thursday was welcomed with open arms in Birgunj where he performed puja at Gahawamai Temple.

A huge number of royal sympathisers and well-wishers thronged the temple during his visit. Shah stayed about half-an-hour in the temple.  The former king stated at a local hotel for a while where he met royal supporters and activists of various Hindu organisations. Activists of Shiva Sena and Hindu Youth Front, organisations of Hindu fundamentalists were present to meet Shah. Rambabu Yadav, a leader of Rastriya Janata Party of Bihar, India, also showed up at the hotel to meet Shah.
