UML man’s death shows govt apathy

Deeply frustrated by government apathy and his own party leadership’s failure to address his basic needs, 65-year-old Dikendra Rajbanshi, a veteran communist cadre of CPN-UML committed suicide at the party headquarters here in Balkhu.
“His body was found hanging from a plum tree on the premises of the party headquarters,” Bhola Thapa, Deputy Superintendent of Nepal Police, said on Saturday.
Rajbanshi, a local of Jhapa, had come to the Capital along with his son Shambhu Rajbanshi two months ago to meet his colleagues of the Jhapa movement. His other son is mentally challenged. During his stay here, he met Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, and other senior party leaders.
