New monks inducted

KATHMANDU, JAN 17 - Triratna prayer ‘Buddham Saranam Gachhami, Dharmam Saranam Gachhami, Sangam Saranam Gachhami’ unfolded a religious function organised to mark the 89 birth anniversary of Viskshu Subonanand Mahasthavir the grand Buddhist monk, here today.Giving continuity to the tradition of inducting novices in Ganamahavihar, the Mahasthavir formally inducted boys aged between 10 to 22 from the Newar community into the monastic order by shaving off their head and handing over the yellow robes and begging bowl.
