Cold wave claims 5 more lives

RAUTAHAT, JAN 17 - The cold wave, which started again since few days back, has claimed the lives of five more persons in Rautahat. One of those who died due to cold is an infant.
According to the District Public Health Office, the deceased include one and half years old Sunil Das of Gaur Municipality-9, Omkar Agrawal and 60-year-old Jata Shankar Hakur and Ram Sewak Yadav of Gaur Municipality-1 and a 65-year-old woman from Gamhariya Birta VDC-7.
The death toll from the cold wave in the district has reached to 15.
Meanwhile, the potato cultivated in different areas of the district has been infested by blight due to the cold wave, according to the District Agricultural Development Office, Rautahat.Posted on: 2004-01-18 02:45
