City Post retailers rewarded

KATHMANDU, JAN 16 - The Kathmandu Post team today rewarded retailers prominently displaying copies of City Post, a daily supplement of The Kathmandu Post with a cash prize of Rs.500.On the first day of the scheme, the prize-winners included Krishna Bahadur Rai of Chamling Store in Lazimpat, Kiran Lacaul of Lacaul Store in Teaching Hospital, Rita Sedhai of M. S. Sedhai Stationary in Basundhara Chowk, Sarita Adhikary of Sikshya Books in Samakhushi, Gautam K. C. of Purnima Books and Stationary in Paknajol, and Usha Silwal of Usha Stationary in Bhagawati Bahal.
Most of the retailers said that apart from the regular serious readers, an unprecedented number of youngsters demanded a copy today after hearing about the newly launched product. "We will need more copies now onwards," said Lacaul.
The cash-prize scheme will continue.
Meanwhile, City Post was welcomed whole-heartedly by readers as well. According to retailers, an overwhelming number of readers snatched their colorful copy of the information and entertainment packed paper from the stalls.
Abodh Subedi, 21, a BBS student at Namuna Macchindra Campus, was pleased at the new look of The Kathmandu Post. "With the new inclusions and changes, the paper will surely be a favorite among both the elderly and the youth segments," he said.Posted on: 2004-01-17 03:47
