Strike affects 2,745 students

MUGU, JAN 15 - Some 2,745 students have been affected by the closure of 35 schools in the Khatyad area of remote Mugu district. The schools were closed following an indefinite strike called by the All Nepal National Independent Student Union (ANNISU-R), affiliated with the Maoist party.
Although the ANNISU-R district committee has asked the teachers to return to their respective schools and resume their duties, the teachers are reluctant.Posted on: 2004-01-16 03:05
